Desire Bathroom Interiors was approached by a customer in Dickens Heath recently, who had had rather an unfortunate experience with another supplier. The customer had paid to have their master ensuite to be installed but were incredibly unhappy with the result. They were left with a very poor installation which had several major issues and frankly, bad workmanship. We were asked to attend, remove everything that had been fitted and start again.
The installation we were working on was just 2 months old, but one of the biggest problem areas was the shower. There was insufficient water pressure to the shower valve fitted, which resulted in no water flow to the shower head. We needed to install a shower pump to address this. Also, when the previous installer tiled the wet room area, there was several tiles that were extremely sharp and there was an issue where water would not flow to the drain as tiles were not installed to the built in wet room gradient required.
We were faced with an additional problem once we started to remove the wall tiles from from the shower area, when all of the plasterboard and bonding came off along with the tiles. This meant the whole room needed fully boarding and separate shower feeds running back to the airing cupboard (where the shower pump was sited) for increased water flow to the thermostatic mixer valve.
Despite the unforeseen setback, the end result looks brilliant. The client was absolutely delighted after suffering such a stressful experience the first time around, and were very much looking forward to being able to use the ensuite in all its fully functioning glory, after having it be out of bounds for 9 weeks. This project saw the following brands used and installed: Grohe, RAK, HIB, Impey, Aquadart, Delta Tray, Warm up, Cassellie & Royo.
